Amvet CARES
(Children Acting Responsibly in Elementary School)
Throughout the year we participate in several small acts of kindness which teach our children that they can make a difference in someone else's life, and in turn, make their world a better place! This program will be doing many exciting things this year with the help of the fifth grade Student Council.Ex: Lenore’s Pantry, The Giving Tree, Pennies for Patients.

Hurricane Relief Spirit Day
​
Amvet CARES kicked off our 2017/2018 school year by raising over $500 to benefit the Victoria, TX Public School Fund thanks to the North Attleboro Charitable Group, a subcommittee of the Early Learning Center PTO. The Victoria ISD is currently in the process of rebuilding and replacing items such as books, shelving, flooring, tables, chairs, and other necessities that were severely damaged in several of the libraries in their district.

Wear Pink Spirit Day
In October we hold our wear pink Spirit Day of the year! Students were invited to wear pink for the day to support October's Breast Cancer Awareness month. The students donated $1.00 for Spirit Day and raised over $280! All proceeds were donated to "UPBEAT Cancer".
Annual Food Drive
Our annual Food Drive to support Lenore's Pantry runs November. Students can bring in non-perishable food items and toiletries as well as items for the animal shelter. Each item brought in will have a point value and the class with the most points at the end of our food drive will enjoy a pizza party!
Savers FunDrive
Have clothes, shoes, toys, etc. you want to get rid of?? Bring them with you to Amvet's parent/teacher conferences during the year for our Savers FunDrives to earn money for our school!
No TVs, car seats, furniture please!
The Giving Tree
The Amvet C.A.R.E.S. program has placed a Giving Tree in the lobby covered in snowflakes. On the back of each snowflake is a gift card request. If you would like to participate, please take a snowflake an purchase the requested card. If are unable to grab a snowflake, any gift card to any local stores/restaurants are welcome.
We would like to thank all those who donated items for our Giving Tree! Due to your generosity, a number of local North Attleboro families will be able to provide gifts to their children this holiday season!
Crazy Sock Day
Wear your craziest socks and bring another pair to donate to a child in need! Thanks to the generosity of our student over 600 pairs for socks were donated to families in need!
Pennies for Patients
Our yearly Pennies For Patients Drive was a huge sucess! Over $2500 was donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The winners recieve an Olive Garden pasta lunch for the top earning class from K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th.
Spirit Day
Our March Spirit Day was run as part of Read Across America Week. Our own Amvet Library is in need of new books, so all Spirit Day donationswill go towards purchasing new books. Each class has a signature Spirit Day outfit and students may bring in a monetary donation to benefit Amvet's library.
Keep North Attleboro Beautiful Cleanup
C.A.R.E.S. participated in Keep North Attleboro Beautiful cleanup in the spring by cleaning up around the school.
